Guy Deplus

 

studied at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique where he obtained a first prize in clarinet and chamber music. Presently, he is clarinet professor at the "Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris", after having been professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris for chamber music and for clarinet.
Together with Pierre Boulez he founded the "Domaine Musical". He is playing with the "Concerts Colonne", the "Ars Nova" ensemble with Marius Constant and the "Paris Octet". Guy Deplus is teaching in Nice and Annecy, as well as in Japan and the USA.
Guy Deplus has been the first soloist of the “Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris”. He has played numerous solo and chamber music concerts with various ensembles in France and abroad : Germany, USA, Japan, Latin America, South Africa, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Russia, etc.

He is a member of the international competition jury at Munich, Geneva, Prague, Paris, Reims, Brussels and in Italy (Mercadante).

 

Masters-classes : Germany (Darmstadt), Korea (Séoul), Canada (Montréal), USA (Denver, Seattle, Eastman School at Rochester, New York, Julliard and Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, Denton, Los Angeles), Japan (in the principal conservatories). Regular academies in Japan and in France (Nice, Annecy, etc.).

He has recorded several CD's and he has played with famous conductors such as Monteux, Munch, Boehm, Solti, Sawallisch, Boulez, etc.
